Corso di Diritto pubblico comparato (canale M-Z), laurea magistrale LMG-01
Le lezioni inizieranno il 16 febbraio 2023 e si terranno il giovedì e il venerdì, dalle ore 9 alle ore 12, in aula 500. Le lezioni si svolgeranno solo nella modalità in presenza.

Il ricevimento della prof.ssa Di Martino si tiene presso l'Istituto di diritto pubblico, stanza 3, il giovedì dalle 11 alle 13 e, durante il periodo delle lezioni, dalle 12 alle 13.30.
Nei giorni 9, 10 e 17 marzo 2023 le lezioni si terranno in Aula Calasso e non in Aula 500, utilizzata per un convegno.

Gli studenti frequentanti possono scegliere uno tra questi quattro argomenti.
Sulla pagina e-learningo sono disponibili anche i materiali per gli approfondimenti sui temi:
Libertà politica delle donne, pratiche democratiche e rappresentanza parlamentare in prospettiva comparativa;
Giustizia climatica e climate litigation in prospettiva comparativa.
Gli studenti frequentanti sono invitati a scegliere un argomento, nelle parti specificamente indicate (paragrafi o file selezionati).
L'esonero sulla prima e sulla seconda parte del corso, per gli studenti frequentanti, si terrà il 13 e il 14 aprile 2023. Attraverso i canali e-learning sarà comunicata la suddivisione. Seguiranno le lezioni sulla terza parte del corso.
Gli appelli della sessione estiva si terranno l'11 maggio, l'8 giugno e il 12 luglio 2023.
Il ricevimento di giovedì 18 e 25 maggio è anticipato a mercoledì 17 e 24 maggio, alle ore 11.

Alessandra Di Martino is Full Professor in Comparative Public Law at the University of Rome Sapienza, School of Law. She was Associate Professor and Researcher of the same subject from March 2019 to February 2022 and from 2011 to 2018 (confirmed in 2014) respectively. She holds a Degree in Law (hons., 2002) and a PhD in Theory of State and Political Comparative Institutions (2007) from Sapienza University, as well as an LL.M. in German and European Constitutional Law from Humboldt University in Berlin (hons., 2004). She was Research Fellow in Comparative Public Law at the University of Siena (2006-2010) and visiting scholar at Columbia Law School, New York (Fall Term 2014). She is qualified to practice the legal profession and is registered with the Rome Bar Association.
Prof. Di Martino teaches Comparative Public Law in the Master-Degree of Law and Comparative Public Law and European Law in the Degree of Law and Public Administration at Sapienza University, School of Law (the second course with F. Saitto). She is member of the teaching body for the PhD course in Public Law. At the same University, she has taught Public Law in the Light of European Experience . She has also held from 2013 to 2016 a series of seminar lectures on Landmark Decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court on Fundamental Rights and Freedoms . In 2013, she held a course on Comparative Public Law and European Law at the Department of Sociology of Sapienza University. In the Department of Economics, she held a series of lectures on The European Protection of Human Rights in Europe (in English) as part of the Master s course in State Management and Humanitarian Affairs (2006). She also lectured on Constitutionalism and Globalization as well as Privacy and Freedom of Information at the University of Siena (2007-2008). In 2023 she delivered lectures within the course Medio ambiente y desarrollo sostenible: protección de los bienes comunes en la era de la globalización , at the University of La Habana.
She was coordinator of University projects on The Work of Konrad Hesse between Scholarship and Case-Law ; Constitutional Courts and Democracy in Comparative Law ; Constitutional Adjudication and Preliminary Ruling from the Point of View of Cooperative Constitutionalism ; and The Dimensions of Fundamental Rights . She has coordinated with E. Olivito a project on Generations of Fundamental Rights and Female Subjectivity . She is now coordinator of a project on Constitutional Comparison and Legal Transplants: Method and Practice between Constitutional Cultures, Global Spaces and Statehood and coordinator of a research unit in a 2022 PRIN on Framing National Human Rights Institutions: European and Comparative Interplays . In addition, she has taken part in several national and international research projects on Fundamental Rights, Democratic Constitutionalism and Economic Crisis, State Security and Constitutionalism, Statehood and Supranational Constitutionalism, the Making of Italian Constitution and Political Culture. Also worth mentioning is the project on Corruption in the Public Sector of the EU Member States, financed by the European Commission and coordinated by Düsseldorf University s Istitut für Parteienforschung (2006-2007).
Prof. Di Martino has taken part in national and international seminars and conferences.
She was member of the editorial board of the web Journal of the Association of Italian Constitutional Lawyers (2004-2009); she is now in the board of directors of the Journal Rivista di Diritti Comparati and in the board of direction of the Journal Nomos. She is fluent in German (DSH) and English (TOEFL), with good knowledge of French and Spanish.
She spent research stays at Humboldt University (Berlin), Max Planck Institut für Ausländisches Recht und Völkerrecht (Heidelberg) University of Chicago-Law School (Chicago, Illinois) and Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (London).
She is member of the Italian Association of Constitutional Lawyers, of the Association "Gruppo di Pisa", of the Association of "Comparative Public Law and European Law" (DPCE), and of the Italian Association of Comparative Law (AIDC). She is member of the Kuratorium of Dimitris-Tsatsos-Institut für Europäische Verfassungswissenschaften, Hagen, Germany.
Prof. Di Martino wrote books on Feminist Thought and Technologies. Self-Determination, Health and Dignity (Pensiero femminista e tecnologie riproduttive. Autodeterminazione, salute, dignità, Mimesis, 2020, pp. 207); Constitutional Privacy in Europe and the United States (Profili costituzionali della privacy in Europa e negli Stati Uniti, Napoli, Jovene, 2017, pp. 405), Dissenting Opinions in Constitutional Courts (Le opinioni dissenzienti dei giudici costituzionali. Uno studio comparativo, Napoli, Jovene, 2016, pp. 577), Territory as a Constitutional Topic (Il territorio: dallo Stato-nazione alla globalizzazione, Milano, Giuffrè, 2010, pp. 600); Data Protection in European Law (Datenschutz im Europäischen Recht, Baden-Baden, Nomos, 2005, pp. 104). She also co-edited a book on the writings of Konrad Hesse (L unità della costituzione. Scritti scelti di Konrad Hesse, Napoli, ES, 2014) and the volume Generations of Fundamental Rights and Female Subjectivity (Generazioni dei diritti fondamentali e soggettività femminile, Napoli, ES, 2022). She has authored numerous publications in the field of Constitutional Law and Public Comparative Law, with particular regard to the subjects of Constitutional History, Territory and Federalism, European Constitutional Law, Comparative Constitutional Adjudication, Comparative Fundamental Rights and Forms of Government, Feminism and Constitutional Law, the Methods of Comparative Law and Critical Theories of Law.
