Luigi V. Mancini is full professor at the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, and the director (Presidente) of the Master degree program in Cybersecurity. He is the founder of several Master degree programs in Information and Network Security at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in the last 15 years. He supervised the doctoral theses on cybersecurity topics of dozens of students in the last 25 years, several of whom are now university professors.
From 2009 to 2012, he has been the Head of the PhD program in Computer Science of the University of Rome "La Sapienza", which involved more than 50 graduate students. From 2013 to 2016, he has been the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Information Engineering, Informatics, and Statistics at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". Since 2015, during the summer, Luigi V. Mancini has been a Visiting Professor at the Center for Secure Information Systems - George Mason University, Fairfax, VA (US).
Luigi V. Mancini has authored more than 130 scientific papers in international conferences and journals, and according to Google Scholar he has received more than 7000 citations. Well-known is his work on Scalable and efficient provable data possession, which back in 2008 proposed efficient techniques to ensure data integrity in cloud applications without having to blindly trust the cloud provider.
Luigi V. Mancini has served on the program committees of several international conferences, among which: ACM Conference on Computer and Communication Security, ACM Symposium on Access Control Models and Technology, European Symposium on Research in Computer Security, and Financial Cryptography and Data Security Conference. The current research interests of Luigi V. Mancini include: cybersecurity, machine learning security, network and information security, and user privacy.
Luigi V. Mancini received the PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Newcastle, UK, in 1989.
