Fabrizio Silvestri is a Full Professor at DIAG (Dipartimento di Ingegneria informatica, automatica e gestionale) of Sapienza, University of Rome.
Prof. Silvestri conducts research on (Web) Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing, and Machine Learning, in general. Before the University of Rome, Prof. Silvestri was an Engineer/Research Manager at Facebook AI in the Integrity team. Before that, he has been a Software Engineer at Facebook London in the Search Systems team. Before joining Facebook, Prof. Silvestri was a principal scientist at Yahoo where he worked on sponsored search and native ads within the Gemini project. Prof. Silvestri holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pisa, Italy, where he studied Web Information Retrieval problems with a particular focus on Efficiency-related problems like Caching, Collection Partitioning, and Distributed IR in general.
