Laboratorio Ingresso nel mondo del lavoro 2024

ITALIANO

ENGLISH

The laboratory provides students, through a tailored methodology (COACH_ING - coaching and engineering together to build specific skills), with tools and personal strategies to present themselves effectively in the current job scenarios they aspire to. Through a careful analysis of both hard and soft personal characteristics and resources, students undergo a journey, both in the classroom and in work environments, where they can test and train themselves to prepare for entering the workforce. Classroom theory alternates with group work, independent exercises, and concrete and challenging discussions in areas of interest.

Goal of the laboratory

To develop all the necessary tools to enter the market: from defining the personal resource system (in terms of characteristics, personal abilities, and skills) to enhancing cross-cutting skills acquired during studies and personal experiences ('know-how' skills).

The laboratory is structured in 5 Steps as described below:

  1. Description of the COACH_ING Training Strategy, coaching, and engineering in terms of tools to be used in the profession. Self-assessment of skills defined at the start of the journey and/or those to be developed and strengthened during the laboratory itself. Here are the core skills of the reference model: adaptability, analysis and synthesis, assertiveness and influence, communication, building relationships, creativity and innovation, decision making, initiative and energy, social intelligence, self-investment, time and resource management, results orientation, prospective thinking, proactiveness and project planning, intercultural sensitivity, systemic vision.

  2. Recognition of students' personal characteristics and professional interests, and validation through targeted comparisons with the first proposed scenarios: Construction Site, Company, Public Administration, Freelance, Education, and Research.

  3. Interaction in group exercises and explanations of theories related to the concepts of "workgroups and teams" and validation through focused comparisons.

  4. In-depth analysis and verification of communication and competence for the consolidation and construction of awareness of skills and potential.

  5. Presentation of oneself as a product in the market, as a combination of content and a "container" to be offered, as a functional element to be placed in a well-defined context: the desired one, the coveted one, but above all, the one most suitable for one's specificity!

The meetings will always be in hybrid mode, even when allowed to visit companies and work environments of great interest. Each laboratory from 2017 to the present has also undergone variations in terms of professional realities visited (even virtually) based on the composition of the class. In fact, predisposition and interests of the students are assessed already at the first meeting.

The laboratory is worth 3 CFU (university credits) and is offered for Energy Engineering.

The laboratory consists of 30 hours, half of which are in the classroom and the other half in companies.

The schedule generally consists of 10 meetings, each lasting 3 hours, with 5 in the classroom and 5 off-site.
