Research interests
Non-equilibrium statistical mechanics, Stochastic dynamical models, Thermodynamics and heat transfer,
Kinetic theory.
Brief Description
My research is mostly focused on the derivation of macroscopic transport equations from microscopic
dynamics, deterministic or stochastic. I try to obtain diffusion (or superdiffusion) equations for energy,
or mass, starting from systems of interacting particles, for example harmonic oscillators with random
collisions, or particles moving in an array of obstacles. I also study these systems at a mesoscopic level
using a kinetic approach. A further scale limit provides the hydrodynamic behavior.
