Francescaromana Maradei received her Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1992 at the "La Sapienza" University, Rome. She received a Diplome d'Etudes Approfondies (DEA) in Electrical Engineering from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, Laboratoire d'Electrotechnique de Grenoble (INPG-LEG), France, in June 1993, and the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering by the "La Sapienza" University, Rome in 1997.
Her academic carrier includes the following positions at La Sapienza University of Rome:
- Assistant Professor (1 July 1996 - 31 October 2001)
- Associate Professor (1 November 2001 - 29 December 2015)
- Full Professor (30 December 2015 nowdays)
Francescaromana Maradei's scientific research activity is evidenced by over 150 publications and a scientific monograph (double English and Chinese edition), and concerned electromagnetic compatibility, numerical calculation of electromagnetic fields, wireless power transfer.
Ms. Maradei has a significant editorial activity which includes:
Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility journal in 1999-2000.

President of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society for the two-year period 2010-11.
Member of the 2015 IEEE Electromagnetic Award Committee.
Member of the 2015 IEEE Service Award Committee.
President-elect of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society (EMCS) in 2009.
Past-President of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society (EMCS) for 2012-13.
Elected member of the Board of Directors of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society for the three years 2005-2007 and 2008-2010.
Chapter Coordinator of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society from 2006 to 2009.

As part of his scientific activity, F. Maradei has received the following international awards:
Oral Presentation Best Paper Award at the International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - EMC'94 ROME, Rome, Italy, September 13-15, 1994;
Poster Presentation Best Paper Award at the International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - EMC EUROPE 2001, Brugge, Belgium, September 11-15, 2000;
2003 James Melcher Price Paper Award assigned by the Electrostatic Process Committee of the IEEE Industry Applications Society to the best work published on IEEE Trans. Industry Applications in the year 2002.
2015 Laurence G. Cumming Award for outstanding Service from the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society
2019 Honored Member Award from the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society
