The course will provide and introduction to the main theories and applications of contemporary research in Digital Humanities. Starting from the history of digital approaches to the field of humanities, the programme will cover critical aspects at the intersection between the computer science paradigm and the humanistic research, while exploring, at the same time, fundamental methodologies and results that such intersection has provided.
The course will also include a practical part in which students will learn how to use basic command line instructions and digital tools to process digital texts in order to perform a broad variety of analyses.
