Following your requests, (starting from October 12, 2023)  the thursdays classes will be moved from 17.00-19.00 to 11.00-13.00 (High Voltage Lab).

Luigi Calcara (1990) received (2015) the Master Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Roma La Sapienza in the area of medium and high voltage electrical systems.
In 2020 he obtained the PhD at the same University in the field of electrical engineering and, in particular, on the topic "Resilience of Electrical Systems: Technological Aspects".
In 2021 he obtained the National Scientific Qualification of Associate Professor in the Sector 09/E2 - Electrical Energy Engineering.
Since 2021 he is Researcher (RTDA) at the Department of Astronautical, Electrical and Energy Engineering of the University of Roma "La Sapienza".
Since 2020 he is Professor of "Electric Components" in the Master's Degree Course in Electrical Engineering at the University of Rome "La Sapienza".
In 2017 he was Co-Guest Editor of the Special Issue Advances in HV Systems of the prestigious magazine ELSEVIER Electric Power System Research.
In 2018-2021 he was still Co-Guest Editor of Special Editions on liquid insulation of Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical insulation.
Since 2022 he is Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions of Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation journal.
He carries out teaching and research activities in the sectors of electrical technologies and resilience of the medium and high voltage electrical systems.
He is the author of several scientific papers published in journals and/or presented at national and international conferences.
Since 2014 he is member of IEEE and AEIT.
Since 2016 he is active member of the Technical Committee of CEI CT10 and IEC TC 10 "Fluids for electrotechnical applications"
In 2016 he received the CEI award for the best degree theses carried out in Italy.
In 2019 he received the Best Paper Award (DEI Society) from the IEEE for his contribution presented at the IEEE ICDL 2019 conference.
Since 2018 he has been Secretary of the Italian Committee CIGRE D1 "Materials and Emerging Test Techniques"
From 2017 to 2020 he was Chair of the IEEE Sapienza Student Branch and Vice Chair of the IEEE IAS Student Branch Chapter University of Rome "La Sapienza".
Since 2021 he has been Secretary of the AEIT Section of Roma.
