Prof. Patrizia Paolicelli graduated with honours in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technologies on November 2003 at Sapienza University of Rome with an experimental dissertation on Idrogel biodegradabili ottenuti per fotoreticolazione di destrano e poliaspartammide derivatizzati , carried out under the supervision of prof. Maria Antonieta Casadei. After an experience in a pharmaceutical multinational company, in 2004 prof. Patrizia Paolicelli gained a scholarship and came back to Sapienza University of Rome as a PhD student in pharmaceutical sciences. Prof. Patrizia Paolicelli carried out her PhD both in Rome and Spain (Departamento de Farmacia y Tecnologia Farmaceutiche - Universidad de Santiago de Compostela Campus Vida) gaining a second Marie Curie scholarship for PhD students. In 2008 prof. Paolicelli earned a PhD degree with a dissertation on Nanoparticles as drug and vaccine delivery vehicles , carried out under the supervision of prof. Maria Antonietta Casadei (Sapienza University of Rome) and prof. Maria José Alonso (Departamento de Farmacia y Tecnologia Farmaceutiche - Universidad de Santiago de Compostela Campus Vida Spain). After the discussion of her PhD thesis, prof. Paolicelli was awarded with a Galeno Euro PhD® in Advanced Drug Delivery.
From 2008 to 2014, prof. Patrizia Paolicelli worked as a research fellow in different universities, including Department of Drug Chemistry and Technologies of Sapienza University of Rome, Departamento de Farmacia y Tecnologia Farmaceutiche - Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (Spain) and Bone & Joint research group - Institute of Developmental Sciences - Southampton University (UK).
In 2014 prof. Patrizia Paolicelli received the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) to function as Associate Professor in the 03/D2 academic recruitment field.
