Professor of economics, Department of Statistical sciences, Sapienza University of Rome. Previously, adjunct (2009-2015) and associate professor (2015-2022) of economics in the same university.

Winner of the "Premio Antonio Feltrinelli Giovani 2018 for the social and political sciences: awarded by the Accademia dei Lincei to recognize the achievements of Italian scholars under the age of 40 who have achieved results of outstanding originality, independence and international significance, thus contributing, even in a future perspective, to strengthening Italy s scientific position (Art. 1b, Feltrinelli Foundation statute).

Global Young Academy, member (2020-2025).

Winner of the EAEPE-Myrdal Prize 2011 (best monograph), for "Economics and Diversity" (Routledge, 2011), awarded by the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy.

In 2019 and 2021 visiting professor at the Universität Siegen (Germany), in 2017 visiting professor at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM), and in 2015 at the Universidad Nacional del Sur, Bahìa Blanca (Argentina). In the academic year 2008-2009 adjunct professor of History of Economic Doctrines at John Cabot University, Rome.
