Tilde de Caro

Tilde de Caro si è laureata in Scienze Geologiche, presso l Università degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza in data 13/03/1997. Abilitata alla professione di geologo. Ha ottenuto il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Scienza e Tecnologia dei Materiali presso il Politecnico di Torino. Lavora come ricercatore presso Istituto per lo studio dei materiali Nanostrutturati del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche.

I principali interessi riguardano lo studio chimico-fisico di materiali di interesse archeologico sia di natura metallica che ceramica al fine di recuperare processi produttivi antichi, studiare lo stato di conservazione e i meccanismi di degrado ed, infine, individuare le migliori strategie per fermare il degrado e i fenomeni di corrosione che si verificano in questi preziosi oggetti.
La sua attenzione, inoltre, è stata rivolta allo studio chimico-fisico della superficie di materiali di interesse tecnologico, quali materiali innovativi, sensori e microsistemi, materiali metallici e ceramici avanzati per applicazioni tecnologiche con lo scopo di studiare come la struttura nano e microchimica influenza le proprietà finali dei materiali in modo da poter ottimizzare i processi produttivi e indagare i fenomeni di degrado.

Gli obiettivi sono stati raggiunti mediante l'uso combinato di diverse tecniche analitiche di superficie quali la Microscopia Elettronico a Scansione abbinata a spettroscopia a dispersione di energia (SEM + EDS), microscopia ottica (OM) e spettroscopia micro-Raman.
