FLUID STRUCTURE INTERACTION
(obiettivi)
The lectures will focus on the fundamental concepts and advanced topics in fluid–structure interaction (FSI) modelling and computation. The fundamental modelling of fluid dynamics, turbulence and structure dynamics of elastic solid will be briefly recall during the first part of the class. The second part of the course will move on the coupling technique and approaches. All the concepts will be treated basing on the finite-element theory for the solution of partial differential equations. The topics will pass from the stabilized finite–element formulations, to the arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) and space-time (ST) methods, dealing with mesh update methods and iterative solution techniques.
