PARIS SPARTACO
(programma)
The Morphology design studio is organized as an integrated course, through two modules: 'Design for Innovative typologies" and ‘Mechanical tests .
The Course develops 3 specific aspect of design activity: 1. product design, 2. design&technological requirements of materials and components , 3. Technologies and processes for prototypes.
The integrated course will be organized in:
1. Lectures (Technologies, Design Theories and Examples, Issues of morphological mechanical behaviour)
2. WorkshopLab (about the design-work topic)
3. Deliveries and Final Work
For steps 2 and 3, the class will be divided into groups, according to the number of students.
Objectives
The course will provide students to know, to understand and to know how and to manage a design activity of product, interpreting the quality and performance of the materials as elements which can drive the project; also investigating the forms in relation to physical-mechanical characteristics and the available technologies of production.
Design-Work Topic
Connections
The course will explore the issue of experimentation in design of a joint in relationship with users activities and gestures. This type is suitable to be designed and conceived as contemporary structure with specific requirements ; these will be studied both as a physical-mechanical feature and as an aesthetic-perceptual feature, able to determine design innovation. Morphology can investigate new areas of physical material behavior to open up to experimental scenarios on the limit states of structures and design.
