This module provides students with an understanding of the technologies used in wind power systems.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the design and control of wind farms
• Demonstrate an understanding of the differences between different generators used in wind power systems
overall design of wind turbines
• analysis of doubly-fed induction generators
• analysis of grid connection systems for wind turbines
• vector control of generators
• operation and control of wind farms
• economic evaluation of wind generators within a power system
• AC-DC transmission links for offshore wind farms.
