The course provides an introduction to the main theories and applications of contemporary research in Digital Humanities. Starting from the history of digital approaches to the field of humanities, the course will cover critical aspects at the intersection of computer science paradigms and humanistic research, while exploring, at the same time, fundamental methodologies and results that such intersection has provided.
The course will also include a practical part in which students will learn how to use basic command line instructions and digital tools to process digital texts in order to perform a broad variety of analyses.
